Developmental Approach:

AEFCT is dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate services that utilize teaching strategies supported by empirical evidence.

Team Approach:

Direct family participation is a central component of the AEFCT program. Parent participation both during direct instruction and after behavior consultants leave is imperative to each child’s success because autism affects the entire family unit. The most important teachers in a child’s life are their parents. As such, parent education and participation are essential in order to attain and maintain success. At AEFCT we utilize a hybrid model of implementing ABA programs. This means that one session out of every week of ABA sessions is required to be done via telehealth and is a designated Parent Training day where the AEFCT Clinical Supervisor or Behavior Consultant (of both!) are on telehealth while parent is running session. At AEFCT we have found this to be a superior way for parents to learn ABA principles and be able to implement them independently both inside and outside of session.

Multicultural Approach:

Sensitivity to the diverse population that exists in California is addressed through the individualization of curriculum, parent and staff training, and education.
