Early intervention can result in a significant increase in IQ and language ability and a decrease in support services needed later in childhood. Treatment options include the following:

  • Behavioral (ABA, TEACCH, Floortime, Social Stories, Music and Play therapy)
  • Speech Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy

There is no hierarchy as to which treatment to try first. Families find success with different treatments. Some are successful on the first attempt while others need to try several treatments, and yet others try a combination of treatments at one time.
